RMC Parts Ways with French Entrepreneur-Critic Mehdi Ghezzar
Unknown to the Algerian and Moroccan public, Mehdi Ghezzar is a versatile entrepreneur involved in automotive services, real estate with a family-owned SCI, and restaurant management with three establishments. He gained attention on the Algerian international TV channel AL24. He became notorious in a single broadcast with an unprecedented diatribe against Morocco. With a visible earpiece in his right ear, presumably to receive instructions, Mehdi Ghezzar did not hold back in his disparagement of Moroccans, including the monarchy, government, and people, using various derogatory terms. Never has a public service channel been so aggressive in its criticism of a neighboring state.
Guided by a speaker who knows no bounds in insults and vulgar language, Mehdi Ghezzar forgets that in France, everything is allowed except anti-Semitism. And there, the slip-up was significant. He targeted André Azoulay, the advisor to the King of Morocco, from a religious angle. And bam! In France, this is unforgivable. There was a backlash against the Parisian restaurateur, who was a contributor at RMC. Without delay, the “Great Mouths” team, the show he participated in, denounced him, and RMC’s management quickly dismissed him.
He will go on to be a critic at AL24 and will be paid in strong currencies from the third-largest economy in the world, according to Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
