Macron: “Very Happy and Proud” to Welcome Morocco as Guest of Honor at the Paris Agricultural Show

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his great satisfaction at welcoming Morocco as the guest of honor at the International Agricultural Show (SIA), which opened on Saturday in Paris.

“We are very happy and proud to have Morocco as the guest of honor at the SIA, where it has a magnificent stand,” Macron stated to the press before inaugurating the event alongside Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch. Akhannouch, in turn, officially opened the Moroccan pavilion, which serves as a showcase of the country’s rich and diverse agricultural sector.

For the first time since its creation, the Paris International Agricultural Show (February 22 – March 2) is honoring a foreign country, and Morocco has been given this distinction.

This recognition follows Macron’s recent state visit to Morocco at the invitation of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. “It is a great honor for our Agricultural Show and our farmers to have this strong partnership with Morocco,” the French president emphasized.

At the heart of the event, the Moroccan pavilion spans 476 square meters, showcasing labeled local products, crafted by cooperatives with ancestral expertise, reflecting the richness and diversity of Morocco’s agricultural sector.

In addition to these products, the pavilion also offers cultural and artistic performances, as well as tastings of Moroccan delicacies, providing visitors with an authentic experience of Moroccan heritage.

Under the theme “A French Pride”, the 61st edition of the SIA is expected to attract over 600,000 visitors. The event features 4,000 animals on display and nearly 1,000 exhibitors spread across 16 hectares, housing nine pavilions.

According to the organizers, this annual gathering celebrates the diversity and richness of French agriculture while offering a friendly space for meetings and exchanges
