The Moroccan national team defeats the Gabonese national team with a four-goal victory

The Moroccan national team defeated their Gabonese counterpart with a 4-1 victory in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Today, the Moroccan national football team won 4-1 against their Gabonese counterpart at Adrar Stadium in the city of Agadir, in the first round of qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations, which is set to be held in Morocco in 2025.

The Moroccan team started the match with offensive pressure on Gabon’s defense, seeking to score an early goal, which they achieved through a penalty awarded to Abdessamad Ezzalzouli in the 7th minute, successfully converted by Hakim Ziyech.

In the 16th minute, the Gabonese team missed the chance to reduce the deficit as goalkeeper Yassine Bounou saved a penalty kick taken by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

In the 24th minute, Sofiane Rahimi won another penalty for the Moroccan team, which Hakim Ziyech successfully converted, scoring the second goal.

Before the end of the first half, Gabon managed to narrow the gap in the 39th minute when Aubameyang scored a goal from a penalty kick, following a decision by Mauritanian referee Dahane Beida.

The first half witnessed a remarkable performance by Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who saved several dangerous shots.

The second half saw an open pace of play between the two teams, with a noticeable increase in the speed of the game.

In the 59th minute, Brahim Díaz, a Real Madrid star, scored his first goal for the Moroccan national team, adding the third goal for his team in the match.

In the 82nd minute, Ayoub El Kaabi completed the goal festival by scoring the fourth goal, further solidifying Morocco’s dominance.

It is worth mentioning that the Moroccan team will face Lesotho in the second round of the African qualifiers next Monday at 8 p.m. at Adrar Stadium in Agadir.
