The King of Morocco Pardons Thousands of Small Farmers Convicted in Cannabis Cases
On the occasion of this year’s anniversary of the King and People’s Revolution, King Mohammed VI issued a pardon for 4,831 individuals who were convicted, prosecuted, or wanted in cases related to cannabis cultivation, meeting the necessary conditions to benefit from the pardon.
The royal pardon will enable those included to integrate into the new strategy adopted by the concerned regions following the establishment of the National Agency for the Regulation of Cannabis-Related Activities and the structural impact its activities will have on both the economic and social levels, through the manufacture, transformation, and export of cannabis, as well as the import of its products for medical, pharmaceutical, and industrial purposes, and also contribute to the development of alternative crops and non-agricultural activities.
