Russian authorities announced today, Wednesday, that Moscow has been subjected to the largest Ukrainian drone attack so far since the war began in 2022, but they successfully destroyed all of them.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said it destroyed 45 Ukrainian drones on Tuesday evening, adding that 11 drones were destroyed over the Moscow region, 23 over Bryansk, six over Belgorod, three over Kaluga, and two over Kursk.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin posted on his Telegram channel: “This was one of the largest attempts ever to attack Moscow using drones.”
The Ukrainian incursion was described as bold, deep into Russian territory, which came as a surprise and led to a dynamic shift on the front line. However, it remains unclear how long Ukraine will be able to hold onto the territories it has seized in Kursk, according to the Associated Press.
