Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Outbreak of the Algerian Liberation War
On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Morocco’s independence and the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian Liberation War, a field visit was organized this Sunday, November 17, to the house of the moudjahid Mohamed El-Khodir Hamouti in the city of Beni Ansar. A wreath of flowers was laid in tribute to his soul and his contributions to the liberation of Morocco and Algeria, followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of the revolution and liberation in both countries.
Participants in this visit to the command center of the Algerian revolution during the Liberation War included:
- Ms. Amina Ibn Cheikh, Advisor to the Moroccan Head of Government in charge of the Amazigh dossier and Director of the Al Alam Al Amazighi newspaper,
- Mr. Hichem Aboud, Algerian journalist and writer,
- Mr. Anouar Malek, Algerian journalist and human rights advocate,
- Mr. Khodir Hamouti, President of the Mohamed El-Khodir Hamouti Foundation,
- Mr. Rachid Raha, President of the World Amazigh Congress,
as well as a group of media personalities and figures.
This visit is part of the preparations for participating in the round table on the theme “Moroccan Participation in the Algerian Liberation War,” scheduled to take place tomorrow, Monday, November 18, at 4:00 PM at Al-Nakhil Hotel (Tangier Avenue/Nador). The event is organized by the Al Alam Al Amazighi newspaper in partnership with the World Amazigh Congress and the Mohamed El-Khodir Hamouti Foundation for the Preservation of North African Memory.
