Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers: Algeria Leads with a 3-0 Victory Over Liberia
The Algerian national team secured a resounding 3-0 win against Liberia on Tuesday, in the second round of group stage matches for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 qualifiers.
According to the German news agency, the Desert Warriors achieved the victory with two goals in the first half. Amine Gouiri scored the first goal in the 17th minute with a shot from inside the penalty area.
Adam Zorgan added the second goal with a powerful long-range strike in the 25th minute.
In the 80th minute, veteran forward Baghdad Bounedjah netted the third goal after converting a rebound from the Liberian goalkeeper with a direct shot into the net.
With this win, Algeria’s tally rises to 6 points, putting them at the top of Group C, while Liberia remains with just one point, at the fourth and final position.
In the third and fourth rounds of qualifiers scheduled for October, Algeria will face Togo in two home-and-away matches, while Liberia will also play two matches against Equatorial Guinea.
