A Moroccan Plane Damaged During Landing at Monrovia Airport
Strong winds and poor weather conditions caused a plane belonging to Royal Air Maroc, which had recently started operating at Monrovia Roberts International Airport in Liberia, to sustain damage to its wings described as “moderate.” No injuries were reported among the passengers, and Royal Air Maroc has yet to issue any clarification regarding the incident.
The accident was due to the country experiencing heavy and intense thunderstorms in narrow geographical areas, prompting the authorities to warn of potential road flooding and traffic disruptions, as well as flash floods. These adverse weather conditions led to the Royal Air Maroc plane’s landing.
The plane veered off course on the runway, causing some moderate damage. Passengers were disembarked normally and are in good health, but the return flight to Casablanca has been postponed until further notice.
