3 Algerian Soldiers Killed in an Ambush at the Algerian-Malian Border

On August 6th, an Algerian army patrol fell into an ambush set by a group of unidentified armed individuals at the Algerian-Malian border. According to a report sent to President Tebboune, in his capacity as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, which we are publishing, there were significant material and human losses, including the death of three Algerian soldiers.

“The members of the Algerian military patrol were subjected to sexual and verbal assaults and were deprived of a pistol and two submachine guns, as well as their mobile phones, by armed elements whose identity and number remain unknown,” reads the note signed the day after the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, August 6.

Additionally, it was reported that the patrol vehicle was set on fire by the attackers, and three charred bodies were found inside.
