Donald Trump Appoints Duke Buchan III as U.S. Ambassador to Morocco
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday evening, via his “Truth Social” account, the appointment of Duke Buchan III as the United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco. He emphasized that Buchan “will play a key role in strengthening peace, freedom, and prosperity between our two nations.”
“I am pleased to announce that Duke Buchan III will serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco,” President Trump stated on his social network.
He added, “Duke will play a crucial role as we strengthen peace, freedom, and prosperity for our two countries.”
Duke Buchan III previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Spain and Andorra from 2017 to 2021.
Born in North Carolina in 1963, he has an extensive background in investment and finance. He holds a degree in economics and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a master’s degree from Harvard Business School.
His academic journey also includes studies at the University of Valencia and the University of Seville in Spain.
