American Aircraft Violate Algerian Airspace to Monitor a Russian Submarine in the Mediterranean

Data from Flightradar has revealed a new breach of Algerian airspace by U.S. Navy P-8 aircraft, as part of the monitoring of the Russian submarine Krasnodar (B-265), which entered the Mediterranean Sea two days ago, accompanied by the logistics support vessel Evgeniy Churov.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that U.S. reconnaissance aircraft have violated Algerian airspace. On January 14, Boeing P-8A Poseidon planes flew over Algeria for several hours, particularly near the capital, Algiers.

This American activity is part of the surveillance of Russian naval movements in the region, amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Mediterranean, which remains a key battleground for military competition between major powers.

These maneuvers also reflect the United States’ interest in monitoring Russian maritime activities, especially as Russia increases its deployment of submarines and warships to strengthen its military presence and protect its strategic interests in the Middle East and the Black Sea.
